Superhero Saturday: The Final Issue

That’s right, True Believers—Superhero Saturday is no more.

It’s time to hang up the gunbelt and move forward. The Phoenix Police Sergeants and Lieutenants Association’s 7th Annual Superhero Saturday was a monumental success, and I am incredibly proud of what we accomplished together.

Thank you—and farewell. Superhero Saturday has been a true labor of love. I promised bigger and better this year, and the community delivered. What we built together has been extraordinary. But I’ve come to realize that bigger isn’t always better.

The event has grown so large that I lost the chance to enjoy what matters most to me—connecting with you. This was the first year I couldn’t make it down every aisle or personally thank each guest and exhibitor for investing their most precious commodity: time.

We only have so much time in this life. Everyone who believed in this event gave some of theirs to support causes that are deeply special to me. This year, I found myself having “microwavable” meaningful conversations—quick, sincere, but far too brief. And if I’m honest, that left me feeling a little hollow. I wasn’t able to spend the quality time each person deserved.

What I loved most about Superhero Saturday was that it was the “biggest little show in Arizona”—big in heart, yet still personal.

This isn’t the last you’ve seen of me. It’s simply the last of Superhero Saturday. The end... Or is it?
